Aluminium heated bed plate for Ultimaker by Makka Mar 13, 2013

Description

This is a upgraded Aluminium build plate for the Ultimaker 3d printer. This plate is 6mm thick, with a 2mm cut out space for a reprap PCB HBP.

*NOTE*
You will require a mill to manufacture this, i'm currently waiting for mine to be made at the uni's CNC mill. - will post a update when complete!

Just a thought: you might want to dig a small deeper hole where the HBP's connectors and leds are located.

Still looking in Holland for a company that can manufacture the aluminium plate....

Instructions

to build this simply order a 6mm thick aluminum plate (250 x 250mm is what i got) and mill out the design on a standard or CNC mill.
as it goes for fixing the PCB to the slot im hoping for a tight fit and i shall possibly use some kapton or ceramic tape if needed. if this is a no-go i have a few other solutions

1) print out some "swivel brackets" (like the ones on picture frames)
2) use 10mm plate and drill and tap the 4 holes on the plate inline with the PCB corner holes and use screws

ill post a update soon with the finish product and some photo's and how i attached the PCB plate.
