Laser-Cut Compartment Trays
by drewsloan, published
These are some basic trays I worked up to use up some scrap wood pieces I had lying around. You can resize them for any thickness of material.
I've set the scale in these drawings for a material with a thickness of one inch. To make a box for a material with any thickness, just scale the drawing accordingly. For example, for 0.25 inch thick material, scale the original drawing to 25%. I'm a big fan of Inkscape (because it's free!) for editing drawings like these (to scale the drawing, click "transform" under the Object menu). You might want to try cutting out a small piece first, and then check how tight the junctions are. If you dial it in just right, you don't even really need to glue it together.
