We're excited and proud to launch Thingiverse Apps. Learn More about what this means to you.
This is what happens when you take an "engineered" design from Groboto and distort it in Sculptris, a free sculpting program from Pixologic. I'm still amazed at the very fluid process of creating (and distorting) a virtual thing and then getting a physical object at the end.
I used ReplicatorG on a MakerBot Replicator2 with the Replicator 2 slicing defaults and the following settings with white PLA from ProtoParadigm:
Infill = 10%
Layer Height = 0.200
Feedrate = 40
Travel Feed = 55
Temperature = 220
I used a raft with full support.
