v1.3 Update:
ADDED the ability to use other Customizer compatible fonts.

In an effort to better learn OpenSCAD I thought I'd attempt to turn all the 3D printed items I carry with me daily into Customizer models.

I've been using the card case designed by phooky since May 2011 and it still looks and works great. Since I had an existing good design to base my Customizer model off of I thought I'd add a little something extra.

Customizer functions on this model are as follows:

Number of cards
Type of cards (business and collectable)
Optional embossed image
Optional embossed text label

Thanks to phooky, Benjamin, and SirGronk for inspiration.

Change Log:

v1.0 Initial Release

v1.1 Update:
ADDED second line of text per laird's request.
CHANGED the location of the box lid, this should make it easier see where text and images are positioned.

v1.2 Update:
CHANGED the scale of the lid by 1.02. Should provide a better fit.

v1.3 Update:
ADDED the ability to use other Customizer compatible fonts.

  1. Open Card Case Customizer by clicking "Open in Customizer".
  2. Select the size of the box you would like to print.
  3. (Optional) Use Benjamin's "Stencil-o-Matic" http://chaaawa.com/stencil_factory/
to upload a custom image and generate image code. Then paste it in the "Add Image" tab.
  4. (Optional) Use the "Add Text" tab to add a label to your box.
  5. Click "Create STL" and print your custom card box!

Printed one. Top doesn't fit the case...it is too loose...pretty much wasted my material and time

Huh, works great printed in ABS on my Replicator 2X. Using a different material?

I used PLA. Printing on Mendel90

How does the top stay on?? I don't see a clasping mechanism

The lid is press fit on. Friction keeps it on.

HI, printing one now but i was having trouble with stencil factory, it doesnt seem to support knockouts, like holes within a shape. neat though.

Very nice ! Ill be using it for sure thx !

Very nice.

A request? Could you add support for two lines of text? That is, one above the graphic and one below.

Good idea, I'll include that in v1.1

I'll also be moving the lid out of the way so you can see what you're doing when placing text and images.

Cool, thanks!
