The Fix for Unwinding Spools

The Fix for Unwinding Spools by ProtoParadigm Apr 2, 2013

Description

This was initially designed as a fix for the unwinding that was experienced by some of our loyal patrons while using some of our thinner 1.75mm PLA 2LB Spools (see below for more on this).

The result however is a handy clip that is helpful in a number of spool setups.

Clips 'A' and 'B' are for the 2 variations of thinner spools, clip 'C' fits our slightly thicker spools which are replacing the thin spools. See the above photos to see which spool you have.

ReelB Download isn't working for me :/

This is totally cool because I really like the sky blue PLA I got from you, but it tangled around the spool holder. There's a small example of the blue: http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
I consider your filament the "premium stuff".

Instructions

In attempts to slim down on shipping bulk and weight we investigated a thinner Reel for our 1.75mm PLA 2LB Spools. Initial winding tests showed that it held 2LBs just perfectly with plenty of clearance. When it came time for production however, something in the winders caused a portion of them to be overwound. This caused much chagrin for some of those who purchased them and for that we are very sorry. If you haven't already, please contact us and we'll take care of you!

The problem was isolated to a limited number of colors in 1.75mm PLA and subsequent batches of the colors were corrected.
