Description

I am not sure what this thing is officially called, but I need a way to stop my kids from turning off my security lighting.

Instructions

The light switch cover mounts using the existing screw used to hold down the cover plate. Access has been provided so if you need to turn the switch on or off you can.

why are they called decorator switches?

Great idea! Now someone just needs to recreate this in OpenSCAD so it can be configured for different styles of light switches. Maybe I'll tackle that this weekend.

In my trade it's called a "Molly Guard". A computer operator in a raised-floor computer room brought his 7-year-old daughter Molly to work. She saw the big red switch on the wall and the rest is history.

I printed one for the much-more-evil "Decorator" light switch ( http://www.mobilehomerepair.co... ) which is not near as elegant as yours but seems to work. I'll post it when I get some pictures.

Thanks for the info and the story.

Duct tape-Ha, my dad just took the whole cover plate off increasing the chances of a good shock. Then it only takes one time to learn never touch the light switch.

Safety- that's what's wrong with people these days. =-O

Yes, now do outlet covers and cabinet childproof latches. :)

This is soo much better than my current duct tape solution.
