Description

3D printers are productivity enhancers, if you ever get past the fact that it's mesmerizing to keep staring at them. I'm still working on that :)

This is a parametric (OpenSCAD!) lead bender tool. It's very simple, but it works for me. I've also included a wider version that can be used to bend an entire strip. Currently it's set to the spacing on the PCB I'm soldering. You can adjust it to the width you want.

It could be improved/derived in at least two ways:
- a version with many different widths. This is now done by HipsterLogic: thingiverse.com/thing:6703
- a little rim that allows you to bend a notch into the leads that keeps the components hanging in place on the PCB without having to bend the wires on the back of the PCB.

je bent toch niet een paar honderd U*maker bordjes aan het solderen :-)

Nice job! I noticed that you mentioned making one with different widths so I went ahead and made one up. It is a little different design than yours so I didn't make it a derivative, but here is the link to it: http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Great idea. I have a good idea for a way to improve this, so I'll see if I can modify it to fit that idea. If I'm successful, I'll reply with the link. If not, I'll tell you what it is so that you can try!

Cool, you make me curious :) You could post a work in progress if you're not fully satisfied/finished. I'll definitely have a look.
