Felt LM8UU Surrogate by raldrich Mar 31, 2013

LM8UU sized printable bushings, which use cheap felt furniture glides as the bearing surface.

Two variants are given:

The first, with 6 glides is designed to fully constrain the linear rod.

The second, with only 4 glides, is designed to constrain the axis against rotation, but not against side motion, and is intended to prevent binding.

This is the same arrangement of bearing surfaces as was used in the original Sells Mendel design, written small and inexpensive.

Vitamins:     4 or 6 Waxman 3/8" Round Felt Pads ( http://www.amazon.com/Waxman-Self-Stick-Round-Brown-8-Inch/dp/B000VYN7CS )

Print, insert felt pads, grease well, use in place of LM8UU.

When using the 4 pad (unconstrained) version, make sure that it is rotated correctly on the linear rod, so that the axis is constrained against rotation about the opposite rod, but not constrained against motion toward the opposite rod.
