Description

We've decided to discontinue several bracelets from our Cell Cycle collection to make way for new designs. This is one of those designs. I've uploaded it in three sizes:

small - inner diameter: 2.3in, inner circumference: 7.2in medium - inner diameter: 2.5in, inner circumference: 7.85in large - inner diameter: 2.7in, inner circumference: 8.5in

Inspired by the complex forms of radiolarians, where intricate pattern is integral to structure, these shapes derive from a simulation of spring meshes which form mirrored catenoid surfaces. We created interactive software to morph, twist, and subdivide each design, transforming a simple mesh to a complex patterned structure.

As for "where do I download"... you buy it.
Rhinoceros and Grasshopper would be the best place to start, but it's not for everyone and will take a lot of work to get anything decent happening. Your maths, spacial and 3D modelling skills will need to come a long way from "where do I start" to "I made something I'm proud to call generative art".

I would like to learn how to do art like this. Can you tell me what software I should start with. Where do I download? Where do I start?

Can you tell me witch configuration did you use: infill and shell?
these would be so great with a 2 extruder head. print the inside in one color and the outside in another color.
Sliced with repsnapper 333, unfortunately it started to move (little sticking surface and not perfect 1st layer) from the non-heated-plateforme half-finished.

Looking forward to renew my feedstock and try it again =)

What % infill and how many perimeters did you use? I can't seem to make it stick!
