PAMP Suisse / Credit Suisse Bullion Storage Box by carbonbased Apr 7, 2013

Description

This Thing is for my Thingifriends who are interested in investing in precious metals. I'm sure you've all probably heard the saying "If you don't hold it, you don't own it." So if you do hold it, you will probably want to keep it organized.

This storage box is compatible with PAMP Suisse and Credit Suisse 1 gram to 50 gram gold/silver/platinum/palladium bars in assay cards (which includes the popular 1 oz size shown here). It may also work with other refiners such as APMEX or Sunshine, providing that the assay card is roughly credit card sized.

This was originally intended to be made out of 1/4" aluminum pieces and screwed together, but I wanted to get the dimensions perfect before I started to machine. Just the same, it is still a good little thing so I thought I would share.

Just a hedge against inflation, is all. The stock market is getting swollen, you'd have to be on acid to buy bonds, and just having money sit in the bank actually loses you money when inflation kicks in. So I figured it might be cool to have a little gold and silver safely hidden in my underwear drawer.

Hey, don't underestimate the the average Thingiverse user. I've got 28 downloads on it already, so some of us must have some PMs. Besides, it works just as well for silver at $30/once. Incidentally, most of the bars in the back of the above collection are silver, although I do recommend silver Canadian Maple Leafs instead because the premium on them is much, much lower than the bars.

I've learned that there are always others that can use even the most specific and peculiar things - for instance, I uploaded "1991 Honda CRX Tail Light Trim Panels" and it is my second most popular item at 215 downloads to date. What I'm saying is, it never hurts to share. Cheers!

i am not quite shure if a gold collection is something, the average thingiverse user owns.. :)
resized we can use it for SD cards though.
