Space. The final fronteer!

As SciFi fans, this was one thing we both looked forward to. (Yes, she's wearing this one, and it's allready one of her favorites!)

The model is a rather simple combination of shapes (after trial and error), and might be done better with sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2008/08/preview-face-division.html (or simply use a forth of the "texture" if you have troubles with the tiny parts).

I included all the work-in-progress pieces.

UPDATE 1: I added some pictures of the 200% version (printed the file with the thinner lasers and removed the loop).
I printed it on the ship's side, 30° support structure still had some drooping, so I colored the rough/noodly sagged parts as ship damage ;-)
Still, it's awesome to have such a big version, even though the level of detail was designed for the small scale.
When printing it this large, the pp3dp UP will create support under some of the texture parts, making it hard to clean- but again, coloring will fix most issues ;-)

Instructions

Note 1: The second version has thinner lasers and bigger engines on the ship. Depending on the size and orientation, the thicker lasers may be neccesary.

Note 2: Print with the ship oriented correctly (as on the top image), this is fine if there is enough support. Cleaing can be an issue though (I had to glue one engine back on). I tried printing it "standing" on the cube once (ship flying down), but the drooping resulted in missing engines.

Note 3: Some of the texture will come off and stick to the raft, due to the fact I only placed the texture-bits over the inverted texture. Colored it will look fine...

Coloring: Use glitter for the lazer, metallic for the cube, and a glossy or matte white/silver for the ship.
