Parametric Round Clips

Parametric Round Clips by macegr Apr 7, 2011

Description

I liked vilxes91's round clips for oscilloscope probes, but wanted a parametric version that would allow me to instantly change features of the holder, such as clip diameter, wall thickness, opening angle, etc. So I took his concept and created all-new parametric code for OpenSCAD. I have uploaded a few useful STLs that show some of the configuration options, like width and number of clips on the same bracket.

If you just want a Rigol probe holder, make sure to grab the STLs with Rigol in the name! Some of these example files are NOT sized for Rigol probes.

I probably wouldn't have come up with this without seeing yours, so I made sure to give you full credit. Glad to hear your MegaBrites are working out! Check my other designs, I made a MegaBrite mount too! :)

Hey, the creator of Megabrites has done a derivative of my work!! Yeps, I really like the open hardware community, thanks for the (very good) job recoding the piece.

And very good job making my room look hypertech with 5 megabrites 8-)

Instructions

Download the OpenSCAD file, tweak the documented parameters at the top of the file to get the clip you want. The most important parameters are probably inner diameter, wall thickness, clip spacing, and clip opening angle. You can also adjust the number of clips on the bracket, the mounting ear length and hole offset and diameter, etc. Render with F6, export an STL, set up Skeinforge, and print!
