view allI am looking for something similar to build for my RepRapPro, but I am worried about the excessive weight that the upper bars have to support. I have seen that the metal is not a strong iron, but can be bended with not so much pressure. I am afraid to bend and damage the bars and jeopardize the printer precision with all this weight over the bars.

Instructions
"Kreuz" and "Lager" are necessary four times, "AbstandA" and "AbstandB" each have to be printed twice.
One "Lager" of one thread rod is surrounded by AbstandA and AbstandB, where the second "Lager" is surrounded only by nuts.
Furthermore the first "AbstandA-Lager-AbstandB" is surrounded by "Kreuz", which holds the Construction in distance to the origin Mendel. The "Kreuz"-Clips has to be snapped in the Mendel-Top-Thread Rods

This is quite handy for somebody with limited desk space, but I would be worried about the spool falling off. Good use of the frame, I might give it a go and if the reel doesn't fall off, I might use it as my regular reel holder.
thanks for your comment. please let me know your experience with this spoolholder, so I could improve this project.

The top-irons don't have influence in the reprap's precision. Far from it, the weight of the spool stabilizes the hole reprap.
