Kodama 02 by NightSA Apr 23, 2013

Description

For a long time I have had a friend of mine asking me if I could make a Kodama from Princess Mononoke. so this is the secound one I have made

Its about 118 mm tall X 52mm at its widest point.

What is a Kodama you ask?

A kodama (木魂?) is a spirit from Japanese folklore, which is believed to live in certain trees (similar to the Dryad of Greek mythology).

According to the 13th century Ryōbu Shinto manual Reikiki, kodama can be found in groups in the inner reaches of mountains. They occasionally speak, and can especially be heard when a person dies.[1]

In modern times, cutting down a tree which houses a kodama is thought to bring misfortune, and such trees are often marked with shimenawa rope.

This one I printed with 20% fill and it seemed to work out relitivly well, I have yet to try one at 0% but then again I tend to leave my printer on one setting because of everything else I make as well. When done feel free to paint with white paint or feel free to print in white. Each one takes about 2.5 hours to print. Happy Printing

Please if you print let me know how it prints for you, I would like to know and I will change things if asked I am Planing on doing other heads as well If your interested at all please leave requests in comments or message me and I will make sure to get around to doing it for you.
