Aleph by stevemedwin Apr 26, 2013

Aleph is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet. This aleph looks like it's being carved in stone.

Designed in ZBrush.

Update 1: This thing is now available to order from Shapeways at http://shpws.me/nJtz in a wide variety of materials.

Update 2: At the request of my wife, who is a rabbi, I printed a super sized version that is almost 6" tall. You can do this by scaling the STL file before you print it.

I used ReplicatorG to prepare the file, a MakerBot Replicator2 with the Replicator 2 slicing defaults and the following settings with white ProtoParadigm PLA to do the printing:

Infill = 10%
Layer Height = 0.200
Shells = 1
Feedrate = 40
Travel Feed = 55
Temperature = 220

I used a raft with full support. This 44 mm high version took 1:14 hours to print and used 11 grams of material.
