Description

The Starship Enterprise from Star Trek.

I split this into parts to enable printing without support.

[EDIT] for some reason these STL files aren't rendering here but my BFB Axon as well as Solidworks do in fact load them up. I have also started printing some of these parts with no problems.

Instructions

Print and glue together.

Thanks for the model. I made one for a trophy for whoever wins when we play Star Trek Catan.

Yea, I tried twice. Found out that covering the sides of my replicator 2 with plastic and turning off my ceiling fan made it stop curling at the edges. The second time worked nicely:)

I tried printing 6 times... none of them worked! Seems that the Primary Hull`s are becoming concave, and poping out of the plataform...

Very nice model! I printed it without problem, except for the very top of the Secondary Hull front: last layers where extruded in the air. Don't know if it was a Skeinforge or EMC2 issue... Not a big deal.

Question: how do you assemble the parts? I used ABS, and I don't know what glue to use. Is it possible to assemble them by metling the contact surface? Is there a trick to do that?

Thanks.

Thank you for the great model, it printed very well. Quick question...is there an engineering reason the primary hull is cut on a diagonal?

No engineering reason but cosmetic. There is small detail on the sides of the hull and I didn't want to cut through that.

need a little printable stand for this model.

Could you post an STL of the fully assembled model as well? I can print it without support material in one piece using my ZCorp machine.

Printed nicely, thank you!

This made me think of those Gamescience Star Trek gaming figures from the early 80s. I could never quite figure out why they could make a variety of Federation ships in injection molded plastic, but the Klingon and Romulan ones could only be made in 'lead'.

How big is the assembled ship?

The ship is about 45mm tall by 70mm wide and about 190mm long.

That printed out nicely! Congrats. :-)

I think there is something with your STLs. Could you post them differently?

All files uploaded again.

Cool...I'll go rename all the others too then and hope they work too.

I saw that no images were generating for them...they did load properly in BFB Axon.

I'm suspecting the long file names could be the issue...will try load them again.
