Description

Revision C updates the frame for the 8-Gear clock.
Current repository for the latest version of the clockwork library:
thingiverse.com/thing:8155

The original 8-Gear Clock Thing was getting a little crowded, and most of the gears changed in revision B, while most the other parts changed in revision C... so I figured it was time to start a new page.

(EDIT: Added an ugly, beefy alternative frame that reaches around the clock so the back and front have some solidarity. Thinking about how to encase the whole clock in a big solid cube, for some real rigidity)

This script uses the MCAD involute_gear library and my own clockwork library.

Instructions

Print one of each STL file, or fiddle with the script, check your work with assembled(), and then generate a new STL for each part with laidOutToPrint(), and print those.

The current configuration requires five shafts to slip the sleeved gears over, outer diameter 2mm with a clearance of half a millimeter either side, so M3 may require drilling out the holes, depending on the print tolerances.

For extra solidity, use the alternate frame STLs provided.

As soon as this is ready I have an SLS Machine that's absolutely screaming for this. Keep up the good work bud.

Thank you! It would quite a kick to see it printed on one of those, once we have it working.
