A lot of people have had real issues with this machine, it's even more problematic than a cupcake :)

Good luck!

Issues with the huxley or issues with the techzone huxley?

hey i love my cupcake and it prints for months and months without hiccups. :)

Really? I thought thats just a normal reprap thing bc its open source and printed pieces are not precise yet.

The monotronics board made the electronics aspect of this project a breeze. The only issues for myself were hole sizes and gear teeth not being all to-size. Besides that now I just have to calibrate the G-code to make it beautiful without the blobs.

Just had a look at your blog, and saw the video of the printer and your blob cornered piece. The reason why your getting the huge blob on the corner is the delay in moving your z axis - as the PLA s still extruding as it expands as it rises up in the z axis. It mauy be worh while increasing the speed of the z axis, or activating oozebane for your stpper extruder to stop the expanded PLA comming out creating the blob

Look good tho! :)

Thanks Roboteernat. Im using ABS but that should be OK. Temp is at 245 currently. I was thinking of increasing the speed of the Z axis and reducing the temp by 2 degrees.

Im not using skeinforge but im using the techzonecom website 3dtoolchain.com which gives gcode easily depending on machine type. I will get SF40 soon but i have to get the new firmware which will work with that (you probably know those issues which occured with the upgrade).

Anywho. Currently th
e speed is set for 60 mm/min. How much do you think I should increase it by?

I got one on the way... I've been out of commission for a while now with my MakerBot taking a dump a couple months back. It will be good to get back to fabricating in the house again.. ;)

Yeah it was a great feeling getting it to work after 50 hours of labor :) . Im telling all my middle school students, this is the next generation tool they will have soon. Then they can just print anything they want rather than purchasing it.

Get them while they're young! Super cool 8-)
