Summary

Note: This is thing is not maintained on here any more, further development/support it will happen on its Youmagine page.

This is a housing for the Crazyradio USB dongle which is part of the Crazyflie quadrocopter kit by Bitcraze.
Just print, drop the PCB into the bottom part (with the little ledge inside for the PCB to sit on) and close the case with the top lid.
Version 1.1 adds rounded corners and edges for a better haptic, latching mechanism to hopefully improve long term pressure fit of both halves, some optimized measurements and an optional Bitcraze Logo "etched" into the top.

Superb design. Really clicks nicely together.

Well done, thanks!

Fantastic little case! Just what the doctor ordered.

Note: my radio board (rev D) didn't quite fit, although it was real close. However, once I adjusted usb_relative_z from 0 to 1 mine fit snuggly in its case. I used crazyradio-case-v1.1.scad (http://www.thingiverse.com/download:197289)http://www.thingiverse.com/dow...

Nicely done... a very good fit! Now I just need to get better at flying :)

I have a Feature request: Would you make a cover for the USB portion? Just a push-on bit? And check out my bumper cage: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:87149http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... It may help save your Crazyflie or pet.

It has already extended my fly time before rescuing the Crazyflie by about 1 mintue. ;-)

Crazyflie Bumper Cage with Battery Holder
by bstott

You mean like a "dust cover" for the usb plug if you are not using it?

And cool bumper cage! How much does it shave off available flight time? Since I seem to finally have gotten the hang of handling the Crazyflie I've seriously cut down on extra weight though, NERF dart cushions only, currently training to give full speed in one direction and then air breaking just before the furniture, damn fun and works :D

USB - Yes a dust cover for the usb plug.

Flight time? I do not know. I was too intent on just flying to notice the time. I then have other batteries to swap. I think it is not heavier than NERF stuff. My first version is 4.2 grams. My new version is 5.1 grams. Heavier to hit harder. They could be lighter by only printing 3-4 layers instead of the total 6. I print and calculate at .34 layer thickness.

Sounds like you are a Crazy flier! ;-) Do you have pictures of your NERF setup somewhere?

Very nice! One of the first thoughts when unboxing the Crazyflie was that I needed to design a housing for the radio! Happy that you beat me to it, will print one soon.

Nice - Just got mine on 5/4 and was thinking of shrink wrap but, since you've gone to the trouble I won't waste your efforts. Thanks!!!! Have Fun Crazyflie'n!
