So I made a zip tie mount here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:83689

And I decided to remake it from scratch. This one is open where the zip ties cross and like the other one can be held down by 2 zip ties in either orientation.

I think this one is better.

Rotate the nut hole by 30deg to remove that tiny overhang and that will make that bit print better.

I made one in ABS, and while squeezing the top three attachment guides to test for strength they snapped off. Worried if the camera took a hit they could do the same. I'm going to try a solid infill and see if it improves. Will post the results. Thanks for this file!

With ABS layer adhesion is the problem. To get the strongest fingers 1 perimeter and 100% infill, do not do more than 1 perimeter or the infill will be sparse.

That being said, I still use the first one I printed in ABS, yes you can squeeze the fingers and snap them off but I was never able to break one after attaching any other finger set inside (the strengh is much greater when the fingers can't have a shear force).

All that being said, I did design a much stronger finger system into a tripod mount here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:352152 I just never got around to adapting the new design into the zip tie mount.

My Latest GoPro Tripod Mount

I printed one and I have attached to my helmet and it works great, I have not been able to test much but at least I have endured and seems to stand up well, although the characteristics of my helmet I had to use four elastic straps, and that has made the camera move

This looks extremely useful for my Tricopter, thanks for sharing!
