Description

This is a parametric weight intended to be used with the series of clocks being developed by syvwlch, but could be useful for nearly any sort of adjustable or containerized weight purpose.

Originally designed with US nickels in mind as they have a relatively uniform weight of 5g each, the parameters can be adjusted to accomodate various other coinage and washers.

There is an option to add a slot to the container which simplifies the loading of the coins post-printing. Alternately you can pause mid-print and add the coins then for a more permanent solution.

STLs are included for 20 and 4 US Nickel weights. They have been used with Test Jig #2 thingiverse.com/thing:8275 and Proof of Concept Ratcheting Drum thingiverse.com/thing:8555 and work great. The larger weight is to power the jig, the smaller weight is attached to a string wrapped in the opposite direction which is used to re-wind the jig.

Instructions

-Adjust params as needed
-Print
-If printing without slot, pause near the top of the cylinder, add coins, resume printing
- If printing with slot, post-print, clean out slot area with knife, add coins
- Attach to string
