Rod adapter for Xnaron Printable Magnetic u-joint for Rostocks by jamesarm97 May 12, 2013

Description

* Updated to add a 4mm rod version.

This is an adapter I made so I can use some carbon fiber rods I already had and that are readily available from Hobbytownusa locally. The original files were for 3/8" rods. Mine are about 5.5mm / .188" OD from hobbytown.com/Shop/Carbon-Fiber-Tube-24-188-OD/

When you changed the arms and joints, did you needed to modify firmware Effector Horizontal Offset and Carriage Offset due to the new positicion (ball centers) or you simply adjusted the Delta Diagonal Rod length?
I thought it was but also no openscad sources there. Thanks anyway
This one should work. I'm pretty sure I redid one from opens cad source and also tweaked the carriages. I will have to look and see if I can find the files and post them. thingiverse.com/thing:153055

Instructions

Print 12 of these and then insert the rods and glue everything in place. Once these are on the rod ends they can then be inserted into the main coupler that holds the magnet. I am including a link to the original files (not including them here).
