Plastic Cap Wrench
Description
I experimented with several concepts before hitting on the opposed teeth that you see here. The idea is that the teeth will flex when the wrench is pushed onto the cap. When the wrench is turned, one of the sets of three teeth will bend upward and grip the cap surface.
This particular design is a compromise between ease of pushing on (it still takes a good push) and strength of grip. If anyone makes one, I would like to know how well it works for them.
Instructions
It will work from either side.
Press it down over the cap so it stays. You can unscrew the cap and leave the wrench on for when you need to screw the cap back onto the bottle.

This is really cool. I printed one and it works well. However, now a family member wants one to fit the water bottle. What program did you design this in? Is there any chance we can get the design files too?
I am trying to print a scaled down version, but would actually like to change some other things about it, to make it fit the bottle better. And use more preciser measurements.
I'm glad you like it.
I made the part in Alibre Design, which I am a big fan of.
I just uploaded a zip file which contains an Alibre file, an exported STEP file, and a DXF file of the part outline. Hopefully, one of those will be of use to you.
I experimented with the length and thickness of the teeth to get to a workable version. I have not experimented with the angle of the teeth, I just guessed at 15 degrees.
Good Luck.
I have one "commercial" one (got it free somewhere), probably made in china. It's sometimes useful, when the cap is really tight. I'll give this a try.

I just printed one, and it worked right off the platform.
