Description
The Bre Pettis Medal looked a little forlorn without some text around the edge... so I grabbed grokbeer's MakerBot Font module, and whipped up a little addition to the medal script.

That print is so cool it's scary. =-O
I really like flatness of a relief silhouette like that, it looks classy. By the way, I'm almost half way through a 3 hour print of a 100mm wide version of this on it's side and so far it looks awesome!
You know, I squished the head that flat because I wanted it to look very coin-like. Nothing says we can't bring the scaling factor closer to 1:1.

You need to define the text as an array of one-element arrays, so that each individual letter can be rotated into position around the edge of the medal.
There is also a matching kerning array which allows you to fine-tune the distance between each letter, because the default spacing doesn't look that great.
This script and method are public domain, but they use grokbeer's font module which is not.

I'm going to try printing this vertically with support.
