Eccentric Sphere Gears by crsdfr Jun 6, 2011

Description

So I took whosawhatsis awesome Eccentric Sphere Gears and re-worked it to be a single part assembly. I took the existing holes in the gear parts, inverted them, booleaned them to the central hub, then offsetted inwards by about 0.3mm.

It looks like the gears on this can pop off? am I correct in thinking that this is all SLS no screws required? IF so will the pieces come apart? I'm thinking of printing this on our SLS 2500 plus but only if its solid and will not come apart.

Hi there :)

Part was made on an SLS Machine out of Nylon. Pretty much only SLS or Polyjet printers will be capable of making this.

Very nice pocket toy. What did you make this out of? It doesn't look like and extrusion 3D. Powder?

Probably only going to be possible on a machine capable of both quite fine detail and support structure.
