Description
This was a design exercise intended to learn a bit about freecad:
sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/free-cad/index.php?title=Main_Page
The whistle is loosely modeled after commercial pealess whistles and I have no idea if it will actually work... let me know!
About FreeCAD:
I am very familiar with solidworks, and FreeCAD is very different from it in many respects. This whistle is the first thing I ever made with it, after spending about 10 minutes learning the basics.
My general impression about FreeCAD: it's workflow definitely takes getting used to if you are coming from a more traditional CAD program. I'm not really sure since I'm new, but it seems to me there still some bugs here and there which leave you a bit confused when it doesn't do what it's supposed to.
I think it has potential as a CAD program, but it has to cover some ground the user friendliness department.
UPDATE!
davepix has printed this and has confirmed it does not work at all....
well, off to version 2!

The whistle has very thick walls (5mm), so that it could be printed successfully on printers with low positional accuracy and large nozzles.

Yup built one too..after cleaning it up a bit I get a little noise, but little enough that I would still call it non-whistley..

I built one... out of UV reactive red so that it can be seen for miles... unfortunately I can't seem to make a sound with it. Needs some work.
