Description

Here is a printable version of April Winchell's "Whimsicle F*ckery" necklace as seen on Regretsy. For more info, read below.

You ever heard of Regretsy.com? If you haven't , I suggest going there (no worries, it's not dirty). Basic premise, It showcases the most hideously awful things on the website Etsy.com. (a site where people sell handmade crafts or vintage things). Regretsy is owned and is maintained by April Winchell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Winchell). One of the categories under which she files certain awful creations is titled "Whimsicle F*ckery" minus the asterisk. Well, She ordered a laser-cut necklace of the phrase and needless to say, it's awesome. So here is a printable version of that necklace pendant. Makes a great gift!

Love it. I'm a fan of Regretsy.

The file type you need for lasercutting is DXF most commonly. (Works with pretty much anything and doesn't require buying CorelDraw or Illustrator)

I'd love to cut one of these if you can convert it.

I can probably convert the Stl to a dxf or sag file. I've got software for my CNC that can generate the g-code from either of these. I'm going to try to make one out of either hdpe or some left over plexiglass I have.

Instructions

You should be able to print this raftless pretty easily due to it's short height. Just size and place in ReplicatorG as you see fit, and then print in whatever color you see fit. Once done, just clean up extra strings and file out the smaller holes and openings. attach a jump ring in the hole on the "w" and then another through the hole of the "e" From there, you can attach it to any number of necklace type cords or chains. Unfortunately, this isn't the strongest print you'll ever do, so no super-hard partying, unless you want to print extras. They take about 12 minutes to print on a Thing-O-Matic.

I don't know much about laser cutting plastic (or anything really, due to not having ready access to such a device) but if anyone can give me the correct file type needed to cut this on one of those, I'd be happy to add it to the files below.

UPDATE: Just added the DXF file for those of you who want to laser cut this beast. Chances are you'll have to play with the file to make it work correctly, but it's there!
