Printable S-Hook by yepher Jun 20, 2011

Description

This is a printable S-Hook. It is very similar to "http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7769" except you define the inside radius of the hook openings.

Thanks mate.

Eventually I worked it out. Open SCAD is pretty damn good : )

the scad file when opened with http://www.openscad.org/ acts like a text file that allows you to edit it and then execute the file/code and make a .stl it also has a preview function and more.

The default one did a good job for hanging my mob.

how do you adjust the parameters? Do you have to do something with the scad file?

Instructions

Printing is very simple. Just lay the S Hook flat on the platform and it should build without any problems.

These are the parameters you can adjust:

top_hook_radius: [Mili Meters] This is the inner radius of the top S Hook
top_hook_radius = 33.5;

bottom_hook_radius: [Mili Meters] This is the inner radius of the bottom S Hook
bottom_hook_radius = 7.7;

width: [mili meters] This is the size of the S Hook body (in X&Y directions)
width = 10.0;

thickness: [Milli Meters] This is the thickness of the S Hook (in Z direction)
thickness = 60.0;

start_angle: [DEGREES] This adjusts where the opening in the S Hook starts
start_angle = -10;

end_angle: [DEGREES] This adjusts where the opening of the S Hook ends.

Normally end_angle will be ~-90 degrees. This is so the transition from top to bottom hook is smooth. If you want the opening to be somewhere else than adjust this value.
end_angle = -89;
