Description

This is a small wooden box I made while learning the box-making process. The design allows the box top to be placed on the bottom in any orientation without disrupting the checkered pattern. Also, all four sides are identical, as are the top and bottom. I did this so I wouldn't have to keep track of which part belongs where.

Instructions

Laser cut the parts and glue them together.

What laser cutter do you use? Any recommendations for someone looking to buy one?

I used the Epilog laser cutter at NYC Resistor. I think it's 35 W with a 12x24" bed. You should get something more powerful, so it's easier to cut thick materials.

What kind of wood did you use?

I used 5 mm marine plywood. It's the same stuff. It's the same stuff MakerBot has been using.
