Summary

This PCB drill press is designed to use common 8mm rods and LM8UU and 608-2RS bearings, commonly used for building 3D Printers. It also takes advantage of a low cost rotary tool used as a spindle. I have included all of the Autodesk Inventor files so feel free to mod it. just don't sell it!!!!

Just added carriage rev2. this is used with AliExpress PCB drill motors and it has an extra set of barrings to take out some of the wobble. (http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6794356750.html?orderId=68248429266141)

metcdes, i used metho-chloride to attach the parts, but i am sure super glue or other adhesives would work.

Thanks again for the reply.

Great idea, I have one of the Ozito's sitting here on my desk.

Are there some detailed instructions and parts list such as rod sizes?
I just see a few bits in there I'm not sure about
I would like to print all the parts for this.

Hello,

Very good tool. I print this but I have a question about mounting it.
How you planned to assembly gearrack to carriage, with glue or a bolt and nut in this case must be drilled parts.
I hope you help me to assembly my Drill press

Chrisgeek, I don't know if it will fit a dremel. You could open the carriage .ipt file in Autodesk Inventor and mod it. The basic rotary tool it uses can be found for cheap. I would go pic one up and save your dremel for other things.

Should it work just as well with a Dremel?

Eleaerico, It is printed as a single unit with bottom down on the print service. Most printers should not have a problem with the over hangs.

That's Great!! How do you print the part which holds the drill? You print two halfes? or do you put the bigger cilinder down?
