Description
My teenage daughter is working on a "steam punk" costume, so I volunteered to make some goggles for her. The first printout was sloppy in areas due to overhang, but it was easy to clean up with a little clipping and cutting. It was a good proof of concept anyway. This is an updated version that should address the overhang issues.

They will need some cleaning up, but they came out as intended. To finish off the initial look, I brought out the gilding pen and fancied them up a bit.

Mirror it in ReplicatorG, as there is a slit for a strap in the center. (It is slightly offset for the nose.) Use leather, pleather, elastic, whatever works for you, to tie the two together. You will also have to supply a strap for tying the sides around back.

A quick painting tip. Make a
’wash’ of a dark brown or black color. That is to thin it out so it’s almost like water. Then paint the golden parts to give it a used / dirty look. I used it on my Steampunk handles. http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

I am not too sure a wash will cling to the gilding, but I have considered it. I was thinking of stippling some orange, black and green with my paint pens and see what that produces. Obviously the bright gold is too much and it needs to be toned down.
