Makerbot spool holder for the 5lb spool of Ultimachine PLA.

view allThanks for the feedback. I moved my tabe away from the wall so the spool would rotate freely, then i pushed it up aginst the wall so that it would be dualy supprted. I hope you can still use it.
I found that when mounted horizontally, this holder didn't elevate the spool high enough off the ground (or desk, or whatever) to prevent it from dragging. And I couldn't mount it vertically because those Ultimchine spools are so darn big that the extruder would wing up hitting it on tall prints! I ended up designing my own: http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Instructions
Print both parts and mount the one with holes to the back of your Makerbot. Place the spool on the holder and insert the end piece.

Note: I reduced the scale by .98 so the part will fit into the spool without needing sanding.

Heh, I was just about to design one of these when my first Ultimachine spool arrives in a few days! :-P Looks great, I can't wait to print it out.
