Thanks for the feedback. I moved my tabe away from the wall so the spool would rotate freely, then i pushed it up aginst the wall so that it would be dualy supprted. I hope you can still use it.

I found that when mounted horizontally, this holder didn't elevate the spool high enough off the ground (or desk, or whatever) to prevent it from dragging. And I couldn't mount it vertically because those Ultimchine spools are so darn big that the extruder would wing up hitting it on tall prints! I ended up designing my own: http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Instructions

Print both parts and mount the one with holes to the back of your Makerbot. Place the spool on the holder and insert the end piece.
it should lock like the picture.
Note: I reduced the scale by .98 so the part will fit into the spool without needing sanding.
