Mendel Filament Guide

So I thought, why not use a left over piece of 8mm smooth bar to fix it.
And to easily mount this I needed some quick snap in brackets, so here they are!

There is NO OTHER filament guide like this one, if there was you could have added the thing numbers to your post as I would do! :-P
Whats up with this filament guide when its a duplicate of many other filament guides here? Why not used those?
Well it's a good idea, just that smoothed rods are a pain to find at least where I am. If I would have known of this before I ordered I probably would have gotten an extra bar. However, now I don't really want to go through the hassle of another order for a single bar. I'll try to think of some ugly ad-hoc solution someday though.

Instructions
Cut a piece of 8mm smooth bar to the right length (approximately 30cm) and place the brackets on the left and right hand side respectively.
The filament should run OVER the bar so put the bar between the filament and the filament spool and then hook the ends into the front top bar and snap onto the back top bar.

I have this same problem, but I don't think requiring more vitamins to solve it is a good thing. Perhaps just by printing something to attach to the 8mm threaded rods could work.
For the Mendel Prusa there is Thing # 7625 - http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... and then there is also Thing # 6582- http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... , which does require some vitamins (screws).
To each his own...
Anyone who has built a Mendel has leftover 8mm smooth and threaded bar, why not use it?
