Guidelines:

Thingiverse is a place for friends to share digital designs for physical objects.
  1. Designs must represent a real, physical object that can be made.
  2. Please only upload designs you've created or participated closely in creating.
  3. You may upload open-source/copyleft designs if you provide attribution.
  4. No pornographic or sexually explicit designs.

Supported Filetypes:

We allow uploading of almost any filetype. If you can digitally represent a physical object, then please upload your files to Thingiverse.

Renderable Filetypes:

Thingiverse will generate preview renderings of the following file types:
  • dxf - as created by QCad, autocad, etc. (2D only. We're working on 3D support)
  • svg - as created by Inkscape, Illustrator, etc.
  • ai - Adobe Illustrator files (save as Version 9 or below!)
  • cdr - Corel Draw files directly
  • jpg/gif/png - your favorite graphics formats
  • pdf - the common document format
  • tiff - for you high-resolution fans
  • eps/ps - postscript? why not!
  • stl - nice renders of your 3d designs.
  • sch - Eagle schematic files!
  • brd - Eagle board files!
  • pov - Povray files are cool with us.

Sharing is Caring

Thingiverse is founded on the ideals of open source and sharing of designs. Please upload the source files for your 3D designs, not just the rendered output. Even if the source file is in a proprietary format from something like SolidWorks, it will still be useful to someone. Uploading the source files allows the potential for others to improve your design. We feel that is a Good Thing.
