I am a deep-sea ecologist and population geneticist who studies the consequences of human impacts on the biodiversity and connectivity of deep-sea hydrothermal vents. My work includes integrating low-cost, open-source technology into research and conservation programs and empowering a community of citizen oceanographers through Oceanography for Everyone.
I've published several articles on 3D printing which are of interest to the broader community:
- A precautionary approach to health, safety, and conservation while 3D printing in the home.
- Scanning the Sea: How I create 3D printable ocean objects using a smartphone and free software.
- A year of 3D printing in the home: does it live up to the hype?
- How a 10 Million Year old fossil, a smart phone, and a 3D printer recharged my #OceanOptimism.
