The Laboratorio dell'Immaginario Scientifico (LIS) is the non-profit making cooperative society that runs the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre (IS), a multimedia and interactive museum that has been committed for more than 15 years to scientific dissemination.
The Science Centre makes use of original expository techniques and an innovative methodology for the organization of didactic activities: the visitors interact with the objects and with the museum itself, in order to approach science and technology in a dinamic and creative way.
Aside from managing the guided tours to the museum, LIS is particularly engaged in organizing activities for students and young visitors of the Science Centre, for which a series of educational activities on scientific themes, produced by LIS' staff, is available: schools may choose among 37 workshops on archeology, astronomy, biology and ecology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, Earth's sciences.
During the workshops, thanks to simple instruments and apparatuses, various scientific phenomenons are approached, while people are brought to experiment and discover them in first person.
Recently the Science centre has also become a Fab centre, adding various technological laboratories dedicated to Arduino, 3d Printing, 3d Scanning and electronics to show children form 9 to 99 how these new instruments can be part of their lives.
