I am a retired Industrial Design teacher with 35 years experience. My faculty included Graphic Design, Engineering, Woodworking, and Technology Studies. Since retirement I have been able to work full time indulging my hobbies of metal machining, foundrywork, CAD/CAM, laser cutting and etching, anodising, woodturning, cabinetmaking and photography. I still work as a volunteer mentor with students at my old school who take part in the F1 in Schools Programme. This global STEM programme became a passion of mine in the last 10 years of my career. I was fortunate enough to take a group of students to the World Championships in London 2009 where we met Lewis Hamilton and visited both the Red Bull F1 technology centre and the McLaren F1 factory in Woking.
