By profession, I am a software architect and developer with over 20 years of experience. But as a maker, I've got more than 40 years behind me. Long before anyone decided to call themselves a maker, I was disassembling and fixing broken toys, customizing models and crafting things from spare parts. As a kid, I was more likely to take apart the new toy to see how it worked than to play with it.
My first printer was a self-built Prusa I3 design using laser-cut acrylic for the frame and screw-rods on the Z axis. It was a good machine, but after using it for a couple of years, I got the bug to build something newer and more precise. My new build is largely based on Tech 2C's impressive HyperCube design. After playing with what he provides, I slowly redesigned most of the parts, making it my own.
