Prusa Mendel i2 with loches Z-axis upgrade.
I added a cable chain for the Y-axis, mounted the printer in an extra rigid frame made from 20mm HDPEsheets.
The thermal cover is based on 6mm wood, some fans and a PID controller are maintaining a consistant chaimber temp.
Micrometer screw z-adjuster+ I've almost removed all mechanical play and installed some rigid steel core timing belts.
Carbon fiber custom heatbed baseplate to reduce distortion of the build plate. (wood was useless anyway)
Printed a housing for the melzi board with an adjustable speed ducted fan => keeps drivers temps below 35°C
I started printing in February 2014.Started with learning by doing to get used to this fabrication method.
Worked out pretty well but soon I got pretty confused and messed up with those 1000 different slic3r setting options...
Now, I mostly use cura and feel way more confident in this software about the settings I'm doing.
But i 'm still using slic3r for some very complicated parts.
