Let's take stock of the year in Thingiverse and list our favorite designs from 2015.

This kit helps you to solidify your Prusa i3. It has 3 advantages :
• It allows you to have a more stable Z-endstop adjustment,
• You printing quality will be better if your Z-axis doesn't move anymore
• You can now speed up your printer without any side effect.

A Raspberry Pi B+ case that perfectly fits the board.

I love how people are using 3D printing to help people.

I really like this one. Quick easy print in place and impossible not to smile when you pull it off the plate. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1130684

Ericthepoolboy's Toyota 4 Cylinder Engine is surely one of the most impressive Things to appear this year.

Obviously, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1169476 should make the list! Tis the Star Wars season, after all!

Why can a query not be made of the database, like "SELECT * FROM things WHERE things.created_date > '2015-1-1' AND things.created_date<'2016-1-1' ORDER BY things.likes DESC, things.makes DESC LIMIT 100"

Or order by whatever you like. Asking a small percentage of the community to choose the "best of" isn't indicative of the site's true "best".

Case in point: Grabby charmander ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:714831 ) has 18 likes, 0 MADE. 0. That's a zero with a z. Zero.

Grabby Charmander

This is not definitive, nor are we looking for the most popular designs. We just want the community to share some of their favorite Things.

This topic shouldn't be on the front page then. It is misleading. I came expecting to find a page that essentially performed the query I described above. Instead, I found Grabby Charmander. That's not useful. A "Post your Favorite Things from 2015" is different from "Best of 2015?". The former is entirely subjective. The latter would collect the true "best" as determined by likes/collects/makes. As it stands, this title is misleading; most forums have rules against "clickbait" titles.

Further, whose opinion determines what makes it in and what doesn't? A thingiverse employee? A mod? That's not the voice of the community. If you really want to find the "best", you'd create a voting platform, whereby users could submit things for a certain time period, then vote on which they liked best.

I thought it might be fun for the community to recommend designs. So far, I've included everything that people have listed here, unless they're listing their own designs. I think the titles and the descriptions are pretty clear, too.

That said, I just added a link to the most made Things to the collection's description.

Would you prefer we not mention our own designs here? I was seriously considering not doing so, but saw a few others doing it and figured I'd tag along. I'm happy to delete it if you want this restricted to people posting other people's designs.

Edit: deleted my post. Don't want to encourage that behavior if it's unwelcome.

It's not so much that it's unwelcome. The goal here is discovery, so all Things are good to see. I just won't include them in the collection that's featured on the front page. I should've stipulated that people should only suggest designs by others, but I didn't.

Just deleted the Gankra Skull post to obide.

oops. my bad. I'll delete it as well.

That's totally reasonable. Thanks for the clarification.

Well I feel sheepish. To be frank, I didn't know I could perform a query like that. My mistake, @glitchpudding. Thank you for your patience.

Well, it's not the easiest function to find.

We're curious about all of @Klowsen 's interests as well. Voting would be fun.
