Thin top layers

by SavedDoughnut16

So my ender 3 prints are coming out amazing after a few mods. However some top layers( especially flat ones) come out pretty thin and not even attached to the rest of the print. I didn't really ever have this problem before so maybe I accidentally clicked something in s3d but I'm not sure what it could be. The bottom layers come out perfect though.

fan noise

by SavedDoughnut16

so, I recently upgraded to the mks gen l and used teaching techs motherboard case.(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3311643) and upgraded with a noctua fan. And boy let me tell you, its louder than the original fan. I understand that the fan is standing upright and that causes more noise. But even with the low noise adapter installed it is sooo loud. I notice that the fan is super powerful so I guess what I am asking is if there is a way to turn the speed down or just other ways to make it quieter. I know its not the end of the 3d printing world but I'm a teenager with it in my room and my parents hate it. even after I upgraded to tmc2208 drivers.

pla filament problem

by yackito

I have a pla filament problem of this brand:
https://www.mastoner.com/printactores-3d/filamento-pla when starting the print does not stick well to the bed, I have tried everything with the settings and even raise the temperature of the bed, I have to raise the height of the bed to get the filament to "crush" on the bed so that it sticks on it with the effect that the impression starts badly.
Did the same thing happen to you? I do not know what to do...
P.S. I only have this filament, then the rest of the piece goes well and with other filaments if it starts well

Ender 3 glass and resistance with the paper

by darcdrake

Hi guys, recently i notice ,i think a problem.I have an ender 3,i brought it 2 weeks ago,i assemble it and i make some awesome prints out of the box,few days ago i took off the glass i have on the bed to clean it up,it was still warm, around 50-60c,and i clean it with water when it was hot, anyhow the glass got a warp, after that i brought a new one 3mm,previous one was 2mm, and i put on,i leveled my bed and when i tried the ender 3 bed leveling test the noozle was to close to the bed  ,i level it on the air while printing the test, after i got it leveled i put a paper under it and i was supprised because the paper doesnt have so much resistance between the bed and and nozzle, but i lost some quallity from my prints.I havent change anything from cura, everything is the same.

Cannot figure this one out.

by jparker3

Ender 3
Vanilla Marlin with BLTouch
Was having problems with the quality of prints. Thought my fan may be going bad. Bought a 5015 fan and printed a hero fan duct. The my Raspberry Pi corrupted, had to rebuild. Got Octopi back up and working.
Now they are worse. I have changed filament, changed flow, changed fan speed, changed temp, and changed print speed. Nothing makes a difference.

Any ideas?

filaments

by yackito

a question of filaments, to see if someone else happens to him, I acquired some PLA filament rolls of the MASTONER brand https://www.mastoner.com/printer-3d/filamento-pla and I am not having good results with the beginnings of layers, I tried the configurations raise or lower the bed and nothing.
The good thing is that the rest of the piece is done within normal but the beginnings ... I changed the filament for another and that goes quite well without problems. To someone else who has acquired from here the same thing has happened to him?
P.S. desperate....
Thank you

Ender 3 frame seems skewed

by Ender3Guy

I've had my Ender 3 for about six months now, and I've never been able to level the whole bed. The issue is that the front left and rear right corners seem too high, but this can't be - I've already replaced my buildtak with glass. I'vd done several other things such as shimming the frame to get it straight and converting to 3-point leveling, but this hasn't helped.

Holding Bed in Place - What are you using?

by dotnetrob

My new Ender 3 came with a removable bed and 4 clips, its not magnetic. Has worked well so far until last night, Started a large print and went to be after the first 10 layers where started. Woke up to a huge mess, bed moved by about at least a 1/2 inch and everything failed, lots of filament everywhere. Fun.....

So where is everyone used as a top? Glass, stock top, other tops? What are you using to hold it on? Magnetic, clips, magic?

Clogs all the time

by SavedDoughnut16

So I've had my ender 3 for a while working fine. But about a week ago I changed to an mks gen l 1.0 with tmc2208s and a bl touch. Since then I haven't gotten a successful print. I am trying to make teaching techs mb case but every time I print it, about half way through the first layer it clogs. Every time. It is hard to pull out the filament after and I clean it and it happens again. Not sure what to do. I also don't know why but since I flashed Marlin the hotend cooling fan doesn't automatically turn on. Could this be happening because I don't have the hotend fan on?
