How to update the Firmware on the SKR Mini E3 V1.2?

Hi All, I have just upgraded my Ender 3 Pros to the SKR Mini E3 V.1.2 board and everything worked great out of the box. I now would like to tweak a few things such as advance pause so I can feed filament into my BMG extruders more easily. Teaching Tech`s videos are great for rushing through stuff but presumes everyone is an expert and or have done these things before. Does anyone know of any simple tutorials of the process so I can follow at a sensible pace to make sure I am doing it correctly. I have downloaded the relevant firmware from the Big Tree GitHub and installed visual studio & Platform IO. I can generally understand what is required but it would give me much more confidence if I could see the process first hand or already undertaken by others. I would rather not stumble along and then brick one of my new boards or spend a lot of time correcting errors. Thanks in advance. Boothy

Hi for anyone interested and for those struggling to understand how to modify the firmware, Big Tree have seemed to have updated the firmware today and the illustrated read me file is much easier to understand. https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-SKR-mini-E3/tree/master/firmware/V1.2
I did have initial problems with building due to an includepath error but this turned out to be just too long file path name. I have since copied the V1_2 directory to the root directly and everything seems to work. I have since reset the firmware by loading the completed bin file onto the micro SD and the tweaked firmware seems to work with no errors so far. I also used this video from Chris`s Basement kindly suggested by skunkworx below which helped a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6zYvRgGr3Q&list=FLc1RZPMDKQ3Brc1Z1oNFbPA&index=5&t=226s

lucky you... tried your filename trick, but no luck here... need some vcpkg here i think but no succsess trying to install that either.... :-/
