I just posted an article on the site about 3D printable game business strategies. I'm curious to know what other people thing.
We just published an interview with Game Designer Austin Peasley aka darkPrince010 here on Thingiverse. Here is my favorite quote from the interview:
"I feel like games are a neutral way to approach something. For the most part, unless you are playing a really complicated game, they aren’t too difficult to teach. People usually get the hang of them pretty quickly and they seem to have a universal appeal. When you play a video game someone might not be very coordinated because they have some form of epilepsy or they might not like the subject matter. Board games are a lot more neutral, and it’s easier to find someone who is a lot more interested."

Maker Games is on a mission to create amazing 3d printable games. We have been tossing around a lot of ideas and building out some game mechanics. Aside from the mechanics, we have been stewing on some game theme ideas. We wanted to give the Maker Game community a first peak at them and solicit feedback. We hope you enjoy.
--- Scrap World ---
The Scrap World Tactics game takes place on a post-apocalyptic earth. The human race has fallen victim to unforeseen catastrophes from irresponsible industrial zealousness and poor stewardship of earths precious resources, the worst of these being the Blight, a mutated species that adapted and began to thrive in the earth’s polluted environment. With little warning, the Blight attacked the countries and cities of earth bringing mankind to its knees.
In response, communities and governments quickly pieced together small fighting forces from the scraps of their fallen world. Resistance forces threw out traditional warfare strategies and tactics, and built armed machines manned by brave pilots. These new fighting machines were fast and nimble enough to penetrate the deep hives of the swarming enemy yet carried enough firepower to turn the tide of destruction. These fighters, Unceremoniously named “battle suits”, became the backbone for humanities deciding struggle for survival.
