Has anyone used the BigTreeTech Smart Filament Sensor and the Octoprint-Smart-Filament-Sensor plugin? If so, I could use some help. I followed the instructions for wiring from another site and burned out 2 brand new sensors because the diagram was opposite (+ -) from the new sensors. And I would like to know what settings you used in the plug-in.

Hi, yes I've just used the standard settings and it works fine for a Ender 5 pro. The sensor is near the extruder between nozzle and extruder.
The explanation is pretty good here https://github.com/maocypher/Octoprint-Smart-Filament-Sensor. I've solded a connection wire with 3 single wires and the necessary 3 pin plug. And used BCM board pin 24 a 3,3V pin a the ground pin. I can add some pictures if like. Did you messured the voltage? It should be between 3,25-3,35V

Hey, thanks for responding. I was able to get the sensors working via help from the plug-in developer. I had to add some settings to the Gcode section in octoprint to get everything working - the developer has a discord discussion/help channel here:
