What upgrades or Mods have you done. What Firmware. What Control Board. What Software tool chain are you using.
Gen 7 v2.0 Arm controller with 750 Watt ATX PS, Modified M8 Extruder, Mechanical limit switches (NC), expecting to add Raspberry Pi Zero W with camera for remote control via something like octoprint.
Inductive proximity sensor for autoleveling, volcano hotend.
Just upgraded Y axis to 1 meter makerslide. Can't use it fully, since my heatbed is only 300x200.
My upgrades: http://www.thingiverse.com/delavar/collections/my-ordbot-upgrades
Thanks for posting your upgrades. I've been looking for a good LCD mount for my Gadget 3D LCD screen. I like the one your using.
I'm about to rebuild my OrdBot, and add some upgrades I've seen on Thingiverse.
I will be updating a thread on RepRap.org about it.
Right now I'm printing the parts for the upgrades.
I have a 0.4mm nozzle, could anyone tell me if I got a 0.2mm nozzle if my prints would be any better?
The answer is probably yes, but its only worthwhile if you are making small things. 0.4mm is a good nozzle size in my opinion. I switch to a 0.3mm nozzle to do my smaller and more detailed work.
Some of the specs of my printer.
Dual direct drive extruders with j-head hotends. Extruder mount is my own design and works very well. (See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:465642 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:471515)
I use z axis anti wobble (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:42658).
And z axis stabilization (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119997).
Printed z axis couplings which provides a bit of flex due to the use of rubber tubing (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119997).
Ramps 1.4 with Marlin firmware and Repetier Host as controlling software. Slic3r as the slicer :-)
I'm printing mostly abs directly at heated glass using 3DLAC works perfectly even for larger parts!! (http://3d-grottan.se/3DLAC or http://reprapworld.com/?products_details&products_id/484/cPath/1618)
Bulldog Extruder with custom mount and fans,
Hexagon Hot End,
Blue Painters Tape for part adhesion.
Cura is my preferred slicer.
I built mine from parts. but it's basically stock. I run a RAMPS1.4 board with Marlin firmware. I do have a servo autolevler that works pretty well... I have the antiwobble kit on mine... I have an Alex extruder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:220493 which works well. I've used a few different hotends, but am thinking of trying a Merlin hotend. I've been printing with only PLA, so I have never installed my heatbed. I designed some glass holders to hold 2 stacked 8x10 picture frame glass (Cheap) and works well.
I use Slic3r or KissSlicer mainly. I use Ponterface to communicate with the printer.
