Hi, I just received below link from sebsat15 and thought members of this group may be interested
They sell K8400 parts and can ship them in majority of countries.
Has anyone looked into a possibility of replacing optical z-stop with proximity sensor in K8400? As far as I know, mainboard does not have dedicated connector for such sensor, so it will probably require some kind of converter. Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
I recently learned about HyperCube 3D printer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2254103 and really like it's simple design with just 2 belts and no rotating rods along X and Y axis. I spent last weekend working on the initial design and was able to fit HyperCube-like XY mechanics into Vertex body. Preliminary calculation shows that the change may even slightly increase the printing area from X=210mm, Y=193mm to X=202mm, Y=215mm. These numbers are for dual E3D print head and for the design that does not require drilling extra holes in printer's side panels, i.e. is completely revertible. Here is how it will look https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2427810
I'd like to hear your thoughts about cons and pros of such "upgrade" and whether this even can be considered as an upgrade.
