By day I work as a software engineer on the Pan-STARRS PS1 & PS2 telescopes.
At home I have have four 3D printers of my own design -- two for production and the other two for research/experiments. :-)
I've designed quite a few improved parts for Kossel printers and sell parts for making zero-backlash magnetic joints for them, as well as already built arms. For a set of six arms, the measured variation between them is less than 50 microns, and typically less then 30.
