3/4 scale Ollie

white PLA tumble coated

Can you recommend a good decently priced tumbler for doing this?
Very interesting! I have done a couple of bronzefill objects in a small Lortone tumbler using surplus 6-32 brass machine screws as the tumbling media, but always with water and a drop of soap to try to keep the object from being coated. I have wondered whether perhaps it was getting a little bit of brass on it anyway, though. As it happens my tumbler is all dried out from the last run, so I will definitely try printing something in white and tumbling it for a while. BTW, surplus may be a good way to find screws for this kind of application; I bought the brass ones for about a tenth of what they would have cost new since I didn't care at all about the size.
Thanks for the tip on the surplus screws, I'll have to see if I can find some here. I'll have to try water and soap when polishing metal filaments, I was wondering how to avoid having those prints take on the color of the screws.
I read your blog about tumble-coating. Very interesting technique you have stumbled upon.
