Airbrushed for realistic look. Came out great. Done with XYZ Davinci Duo ABS 200 micron slow 5% fill
That looks great, and I'd like to do something similar. Would you mind helping me out with some details?
How does the Valley model fit into the rectangular table cavity? It appears that you've rotated the model relative to the table (i.e. the table long edge isn't exactly E-W compared to the map)? And that you've filled the empty spaces (corresponding to the "missing" D3, A5, A6 squares plus some others) with black cloth? Did you also cut back the edges of the model to fit the table? Could you take a photo looking down vertically at the table?
Sorry for the really late reply. The table was just a blank wooden table. A hole was cut in the center and a box was made to hang from the top. The model was placed in the box sitting flat and then clay was used to fill in the voids and molded to provide some sort of continuous shape. Once the clay was dried it was painted black. Glass then covers the model and a label was made describing the size and model.
It looks great, just as I remembered it back in 1995.
Dude that looks awesome!
