2 full beds, 22h total printing time.
Hephestos 2, white PLA, 0.4nozle, 0.2mm lh, 20℅ fast honeycomb infill.
Best regards from Catalonia.
Wow, good job! I printed the parts mostly one at a time, took a while. Glad everything seemed to go together well for you.
Thanks. It's a great model!
It's not 100% functional due to the FDM and PLA properties, but's a great display model.
Do you mean the gears don't turn very well? I had trouble with that as well. Putting grease on the worm gears made it work for me. I can rotate the input, hold one of outputs, and watch the worms rotate.
Yes, I sanded the worms, and gentle lubricated with solid vaseline. It rotates if I spin counter-side the outputs, but not if I rotate the input and hold one side.
I will update with a fine metallic washers on every-side of worm drives to reduce friction.
Also, I will try to make other tipes of differential tipes, as:http://www.canadawideparts.com/index.php/light-duty/differentials
Maybe this other version of torsen is more simplistic.
Otherwise, this is the best Torsen type1 on thingiverse. A must to print.
If you can't hold one side still while the input is rotating that just means it's actually working properly. Like you can't even alter the two output speeds at all? You should be able to slow down one side, but not stop it.
It's working, and is a model print that gets all the sights.
In my case, the force needed to start to rotate at different speeds, drops after starting to spin. I will try to put a motor yo get constant speed and torque.
Anyway, it's a fantastic model.
